The sad thing is that again not all worlds have this and that you never know if your world has one, unless you get really lucky, explorde your enitre large map or use a map viewer, in which both are bad in my opinion. What I did find with map viewing however, is that enchanted swords became more common in the world than in 1.3, while shrines are technically being removed, there generate around 4 per world in caves, which used to be 2 in 1.3. This doesn't mean that every world had one, but around 95% of the worlds had one, which now it don't It would have worked in 1.3 due the the shrines, because with 4 shrines (large world) each having a 1/3 chance of containing one, you kinda had to get one sword in your world due how randomness works. Which in my opinion might hasn't been the best of choices. The enchanted sword however, you do need for an endgame item: the zenith. I already found piramids bad enough, but at least you didn't need the content for the endgame. I much prefer the sword being able to find in my own world, almost every time I play Terraria, so that getting the Zenith isn't a pain. Honesty in my opinion, you shouldn't have to use a seed to find something. What could also work is to remove the Enchanted Sword from the recipe all together. Or that the enchanted sword gets an easier way to obtain this than a 2% drop rate form the rarest crate in the game. What I would like to see changed is either the rarity of the enchanted sword shrine getting buffed, so that is available in every world. ![]() Which in my opinion shouldn't be the case and its just bad game design, even more so because all the other swords are obtainable with no problems. The Zenith is supposed to be the overpowered endgame sword, but it is such a pity if you aren't able to craft one because you weren't able to get the Enchanted Sword. While I understand this change since this weapon was way to overpowered, I don't like how it limits you on getting the Zenith. The Enchanted Sword got extremely nerfed world generation wise in Terraria 1.4. ![]() I am happy to say the Enchanted Sword isn’t too hard to get anymore, which is a huge relief. However many players have reported that this method has stopped working, but you can always give it a try. ![]() And there they’ll find the Enchanted Sword in Stone. There they have to look for a narrow straight hole in the ground and dig till 3459’ West & 10’ Surface. But also thank you Re-Logic for removing the fishing nerf, this is actually funny enough the only way I have gotten my sword so far, so this helps a lot too. Once you reach players will need to head to 3459’ West & 246’ Surface. Thank you Re-Logic for making enchanted sword shrines twice as common this will definitely help a lot for obtaining this sword. ![]() A moment's reflection on these shapes and their obvious contrast with the cuboctahedron and its extended family of tetrahedral-octahedral symmetries should make it somewhat self-evident why I consider FCC, and not HCP, to be the true successor to hexagonal symmetry in three dimensions. Is there a cuboctahedron-like polyhedron that represents their packing arrangement?" And of course there is: the somewhat absurd triangular orthobicupola, and its dual, the quite possibly more absurd trapezo-rhombi dodecahedron. That is, if spheres in a face-centered cubic packing were expanded until they filled all available space, or the vertices of a tetrahedral-octahedral tessellation were themselves turned into spheres and so expanded, they would become rhombic dodecahedra.Īt this point you may be wondering "But wait, what about hexagonal close packed spheres? They, too, have twelve neighboring elements. ![]() The dual of the cuboctahedron is the delightfully quirky rhombic dodecahedron, which can, in fact, tessellate space by itself, in the manner of FCC-packed spheres. This, again, can be expanded outward indefinitely, though the particular unit of spheres in this configuration will not fill such a packing arrangement by itself. Thus, a sphere placed at the center of a cuboctahedron with a diameter equal to the edge length of the latter can be surrounded by twelve neighboring spheres of equal size, each arranged at one of the vertices of the cuboctahedron. The face-centered cubic arrangement of close-packed spheres (which, as we've described elsewhere, is arguably more hexagonal than the so-called "hexagonal close packing" arrangement) is essentially identical to this tetrahedral-octahedral tessellation. Despite this, however-and unlike the truncated octahedron-the cuboctahedron cannot by itself tessellate space when only cuboctahedral units are fit together, one will always be left with either space left over, or overlapping tetrahedral/half-octahedral cells. Pairing the half-octahedra with their remaining halves, and continuing the same arrangement of edge-sharing tetrahedra around these octahedral "cavities," this pattern of tetrahedral-octahedral tessellation can be continued outward indefinitely, with identical cuboctahedral symmetry radiating from every vertex in the resulting tessellation. Likewise, as hexagons can be subdivided into equilateral triangles, so the cuboctahedron can be seen to consist of six half-octahedra and eight tetrahedra clustered around the center, forming the vertex figure of the tetrahedral-octahedral tessellation. As with the hexagon in 2-space, the cuboctahedron is the only uniform convex polyhedron with this quality. (Likewise, of course, the cuboctahedron can simply be seen as a sort of "expanded" tetrahedron, with four of its eight triangular faces representing the original four faces of an inner tetrahedron, the remaining four triangles representing its four vertices, and the square faces representing its edges.) Tetrahedral symmetry being the simplest type of polyhedral symmetry, and the only one suited to this sort of fitting together of hexagonal planes, the cuboctahedron represents a unique extension of and analogue to hexagonal symmetry in three dimensions.įrom the idea of the cuboctahedron as four intersecting hexagonal planes, it follows that, like the hexagon, the radius between the center of the cuboctahedron and its vertices is equal to the length of its edges. That is, if one took a tetrahedron, replaced its four faces with hexagons (as for instance with a truncated tetrahedron), and collapsed all four hexagonal sides so that they all shared a common center, the vertices of the hexagons would describe a cuboctahedron, with each vertex shared between two intersecting hexagons, collapsing the original 24 vertices of the four hexagons into the 12 vertices of the cuboctahedron. Though it has no hexagonal faces, the cuboctahedron can be seen to consist of four hexagonal rings or planes arranged in the manner of tetrahedral symmetry. Along with the truncated octahedron, it can be considered, in some sense, a three-dimensional analogue to the hexagon. I made a octahedron out of it.Here we see the illustrious cuboctahedron, or vector equilibrium. One of the first bosses is basically impossible if you haven't mastered blocking/parrying, which is actually super easy to learn Revengeance just explains it horribly and doesn't give you a safety-wheels-on trial run. It is inexcusable how little a game with such rewarding mechanical complexity attempts to clue you into any of it. Painfully forced exposition abounds, precious few playable moments are book-ended by lengthy cut-scenes (some of which look like they'd be really fun to, you know, play), and - most damningly - the game teaches you damn-near nothing. Large, bloody chunks of the combo-based actioner are outrageously enjoyable, but the first 40 minutes or so are a slog. Despite being a pretty great game overall, I sometimes got the impression that Revengeance didn't really give a damn about me. Rather, Revengeance's problem is that it's so very loud and meandering and insistent on itself that it sometimes forgets to check and see if the player's still having a good time. Don't get me wrong: I'm of the mind that Metal Gear wouldn't be Metal Gear without its many fearless cannon balls into lunacy's deepest waters when I advocate for restraint here, that's not even what I'm trying to discuss. The lone saving grace is Jenna Coleman, who makes her second appearance in the series as barmaid/governess Clara - a wittier, more likable version of the character who would become the next companion. It certainly doesn’t help that the episode promises a much more engaging antagonist than it delivers. Taking place after the Doctor loses his companions Amy and Rory, “The Snowmen” features a markedly downtrodden Doctor - a tone shift that Matt Smith, for all his vibrant energy and kinetic charm, can’t quite pull off. Grant and Ian McKellen’s voice would rank higher, but alas, this episode about sentient killer snow is mediocre at best. One would think that an episode featuring the likes of Richard E. In an episode marked by middling dramatic action and a dearth of whip-smart dialogue, the appearance of the Master feels lazy and unearned, especially after the character’s last two momentous arcs, as played with delicious mania by John Simms and Michelle Gomez. The twists, too, feel predictable, right down to the double-cross of the Doctor’s old spy buddy O (Sacha Dhawan), who is revealed to be the Doctor’s old nemesis the Master. The baddies - the alien spies - are too amorphous to feel particularly threatening, and their human targets seem too specific to give a sense of any high stakes. It’s far from the first time the show has played with genre tropes, but for all the playfulness that the episode title’s punnery suggests, “Spyfall” itself doesn’t sport enough fun, intrigue, or originality. ![]() Spy: Doctor Who Edition, and its characters jump in with James Bond-style cosplay. The episode announces from the get-go that we’re in for an hour of Spy vs. All over the world, undetectable aliens are attacking spies, and so the TARDIS team is on the case. While preparing to depart on another adventure, the Doctor, Yaz, Ryan, and Graham are kidnapped by a bunch of suits and taken to MI6 headquarters, where - surprise! - Stephen Fry is the head honcho and needs their help. It’s a shame, though, because “Spyfall” is utterly conventional, nondescript at best and dull at worst, in the way it picks up where we last left off. The second Doctor Who holiday special to not run on Christmas Day (after 2019’s “Resolution”), “Spyfall” dispenses with the show’s usual holiday themes for a straightforward dive into the new season. Between its sky full of fish and its magical singing love interests, “A Christmas Carol” is marked by nonsensical diversions in a story that doesn’t stand on its own. Why does the Doctor decide that his best plan of action is to literally change a man’s personality? Isn’t it bad to manipulate someone’s life? Didn’t we already learn how crossing one’s own timeline can be disastrous? For a show about a time-traveling alien and his human companions skipping through the universe and saving the day, we also get little of our protagonists, and the characters who are pushed into the spotlight - Kazran Sardick and his icebox sweetheart Abigail - aren’t nearly interesting enough to act as worthy substitutes. It’s a transparent attempt to adopt the plot of Dickens’s A Christmas Carol - indeed, even Matt Smith’s Doctor says it - but the episode’s logic and execution are both off-target. Following the trash fire that was the Pandorica arc, “A Christmas Carol” tells the story of a doomed spaceship and the rich miser who could save the day but refuses to do any such thing. ![]() ![]() The Sound Normalizer improves and regains a quality of Mp3 and Wav (PCM 8, 16, 24, 32 bits, DSP, GSM, IMA. I’m hoping as the series progresses, this clear line of good versus evil will be blurred. One soldier who could have brought some grayness to the black-and-white world in Akame ga KILL! is twisted by her own sense of what justice is. Surely one of those areas is more attractive to the empire’s citizens. In fact, the officials of the empire in Akame ga KILL! are so twisted, it’s surprising more revolts aren’t occurring, especially when it’s revealed the country is surrounded by other tribes. The few who would have been allies to Night Raid have been killed off. Most of the villains are people with screws loose, and so far none have really questioned the empire’s decisions. Make no mistake, though, this is not a series about the characters this is a manga focusing on the battles. ![]() Tatsumi himself could go down one of two paths, and so I’ll be sticking around to see if he becomes more jaded or more sympathetic as the series goes on. The enemies they face are not just random NPCs but humans with their own lives and loved ones. He joins the assassin group Night Raid with high ideals, but the veteran members assure him what they due is murder. Tatsumi, the protagonist, also does not spend chapters proclaiming to be a pacifist. It’s a blood-filled series with death occurring onscreen (onpage?) instead of just being implied. However, unlike many “group versus the empire” stories, Akame ga KILL! makes it clear by the second volume that not everyone will be around for the final battle. (Because, let’s face it, it would be very annoying gameplay-wise to keep having party members leave or die.) And they generally succeed with little to no desertions or casualties. Many games feature a varied group of ragtags who are determined to do what an entire army can’t. Many manga (especially shounen) feel like a JRPG in written form Akame ga KILL! is no exception. However, I’m enjoying Akame ga KILL! so far, so that should tell you something. I’m usually not a fan of assassin/yakuza-type manga. Note: this review has been updated and can be found here.
